Where you will find an abundance, probably the largest vintage glamour collection in the world. We have most of the small magazines and films published in the 50s and 60s by Kamera Publications Ltd including Kamera, Solo, Kamera Backstage, Kamera Glamour Guide etc. etc. we also have the hardbacks, She walks in Beauty, On location and Pamela plus the 8mm films that were so popular in the 50s and 60s featuring Ann Walker, June Palmer, Erica, Gerry Brown. GHM certainly knew how to pick his models! Also in our stocks are many of the glamour stockings, suspenders and high heel magazines from the same period, Most of these are featured in our quarterly catalogue which is available by post.

In the 80s, it was our good fortune to come across several tons of old 50s and 60s magazines in a warehouse. They literally had one inch of dust on the top of the boxes! When we had finished loading we looked like miners after a long shift, but the treasures we found made the effort all worthwhile, we found packets wrapped in brown paper tied with string full of Kamera 86, 87, Solo 82, Glamour Guide and a few more all in absolutely mint condition (unopened just as they had arrived from the printers) plus cartons of boxed 8mm standard and super 8mm films all brand new, all the product of Kamera Publications Ltd. There was a lot of other material including 100s of American magazines from the same period. That was probably one of the many exciting finds in our very long history of buying, selling and exchanging glamour memorabilia.

But the most exciting find of all was a chance conversation with a friend who had been to a party in London and met GHM, the conversation got round to photography and to cut a long story short our friend finished up in GHMÕs house sorting through the GHM collection of negatives and buying a great bundle. Our good fortune was when we were told about the collection, I immediately phoned George and arranged to go to London the following day, we arrived at Wellington Avenue at around 12 noon, George showed us into the back room which he called his studio, where he produced his magazines. On the table were these two great boxes full to the top with black and white negatives all in separate envelopes. George helped sort through this mountain, his dog Janus kept peeping in and having a sniff at us before disappearing off into the front lounge. Just before leaving (it was dark! we had been there about seven hours) GHM said ÒWill I be famous when I am dead?Ó I said you're famous now, George, but we will make sure the memory lingers on! Not knowing at that time (in the 80s) that in the future we would be able to put all this material on the WWW for the whole world to see.

We could only afford to take approximately half of the collection in that trip, but we did go back a year or so later and took the rest, this time we just had a coffee and a chat in the conservatory transferred the negatives into a suitcase and were on our way. GHM was very helpful to us over the last decade or so of his life, helping us out with models names, information and locations, he did have an absolutely remarkable memory.

I do know that the negatives went off in four bundles, we managed to get two of the lots from him, I know who managed to get the first batch but heÕs reluctant to part with them at the moment, I will keep trying and might get lucky in a few years.

George made very wise decision in passing on his negatives as it ensured that his work would still be kept in the public eye by people who had a good relationship with him when he was alive.

Over the years Nostalgia Publications Ltd. have published many magazines showing the full glory of his unique art and we have introduced many, many more fans from all over the world to his work, we will continue this in the future.

SOLO: Solo was published in the late 1950Õs by Kamera Publications Ltd. and featured, as the title suggests, one model who appeared throughout. The photographer was Harrison Marks, one of a handful of talented men who changed the face of glamour photography. He had an amazing capacity for choosing just the right type of girl to adorn the pages of his publications and many of his models became legendary in their own right. Pamela Green, June Palmer, Paula Page, Lorraine Burnett, Vicky Kennedy, Marie Devereux, Rosa Dolmai and many more became hugely popular. ?With hardly any capital and the promise of backing from a printer by the name of Jim Martin, the husband and wife team of Harrison Marks and Pamela Green published their very first magazine, Kamera, in the early 50Õs. Within two days the 15,000 they had had printed sold out and within the next five weeks no less than 150,000 copies had been sold! The only thing that stopped this was the publication of the second edition. The rest is legend. Other series of photo magazines were to follow, including Femme and Solo. ?Today, as with all the Kamera Publications, copies of SoloÕs are very collectable and thanks to the wonders of modern technology you are able to take a look at the very items that caused such great excitement all those years ago. ?We must stress that items on view here are taken from our private collection of Harrison Marks memorabilia, allthough we do list some of them for sale in Nostalgia Publications very own catalogue, details of which appear below. However, we are always interested in items you may have to sell and will be happy to hear from you giving details of quantities, titles and condition. ?We thank you for browsing our web page. Hope you found it interesting. ?Solo magazines are 7 x 5: Features one model throughout: Taken by HM. Colour cover. If the one you want is sold, put it on your wants list. When I get one into stock I will write and tell you:?
